And now our Dancing Queen, Madhuri Dixit Nene is in legal trouble for endorsing Oats Maggi. The Allegation is made by Haridwar Food and Drug Administration for endorsing Maggi because recently there have been several allegations against Maggi for being unhealthy, and its endorser has been sent a legal notice for it too.
Our used-to-be favourite snack, the 2-minute noodle, a Nestle product, has come under the scanner recently after samples collected by the Uttar Pradesh Food Safety and Drug Administration said that high lead content was found during routine tests on two dozen packets.
FDA officials said all the packets of instant noodles tested in the state-run laboratory were contaminated. They found a lead concentration of 17.2 parts per million (ppm), nearly seven times the permissible limit, the acceptable limit being between 0.01 ppm and 2.5 ppm. After UP, several other states in the country are also carrying out tests to verify the claims of the content of lead and MSG in Maggi.
The actress is asked to justify the tagline ‘taste bhi, health bhi’ by answering – within 15 days – how it’s healthy. If she fails to respond within this time frame, a case could be registered against her.
