Every love story is different and so are their endings. Let us tell you about one of such unique Love Story which they ended in a very unusual way and what happened after 30 years!
Artists Marina Abramovic and Ulay started an intense love affair in the 1970s, performing out of a van they called home.
But then they decided to end their relationship. It was heartbreaking but also a very special moment. So when they ended their relationship, they decided to go to the opposite ends of the Great Wall of China and walked towards each other in the middle. When they met, they gave each other one last embrace and parted ways. After that moment, they never saw each other again.
In 2010 as a part of her Museum of Modern Art retrospective, ‘The Artist Is Present’, Marina shared a minute of silence with each stranger who sat in front of her and they stared at each other.
But something unique happened that day. On the opening night, Ulay showed up at her display without Marina knowing. It was the first time they saw each other in more than 30 years.
Here is the video which captured their unseen and unforgettable love for each other:
“I was fortunate enough to wander into the MoMA just in time for “The Artist Is Present”. Equal parts unsettling, absurd, and profound; I couldn’t shake the experience. Later, I stumbled onto the video wherein Ulay and Marina reunite and was overwhelmed with only one sentiment: this is a song.” said the vocalist/keytarist Jon Burr of the band called as ‘How I Became The Bomb’ who wrote this song.
The song is perfectly written which beautifully describes their feelings of old love for each other. The moment they had a tear in their eyes, their old love story was unveiled between them within few seconds. Every gesture of them showed that how truly they loved each other, that she recognized him within no second and with a smile. We had tears in our eyes too after watching the video. Their love can be felt since the moment they saw each other and they made us feel too. Their eyes spoke everything. This shows that though ages pass by, but you can never forget your True Love.
