KFC has finally released an updated on the allegedly ‘Fried Rat’ case, and the lab results prove it was indeed a chicken and not a fried rat.

KFC fried rat update

Devorise Dixon, a KFC lover complained last week that he had been served something which looks like a ‘Fried Rat’. He posted the photos on Social Media and within no time it became a Super Global News.

Some people were supporting Dixon while some were supporting KFC by saying that it clearly looks like a chicken piece. However, the company denied the allegations, stating that their “immediate investigation has found no evidence to support this.”

When KFC asked Dixon to provide the tender back to them, he didn’t respond but later Dixon’s lawyer confirmed that the tender has been handed over to them which was later sent to an Independent Lab Study.

They said that,

“Based on visual analysis of the sample (and accompanying photography) and on the results of the ELISA-TEK® Cooked Poultry Species Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay Kit (ELISA Technologies, Gainesville, FL), Food Safety Net Services, Ltd. declares the battered and breaded cooked meat sample to be poultry”.

As seen in the picture, it can be clearly seen that the white part is actually Poultry that is 100% White Meat Chicken.

Last week Dixon wrote online: “Honestly, it doesn’t matter what others think I know what I bit into and what it looks like. Never in my life have I seen a chicken strip with a long tail.”

“Recently, a customer questioned the quality of a KFC product, and this received considerable publicity given the sensational nature of his claim,” the company said in a statement to ABC News.

KFC spokesman Rodrigo Coronel said the customer lied about being told the piece of chicken was a rat. “We did an internal investigation and talked to all employees. That statement is false. “The right thing for this customer to do is to apologize and cease making false claims about the KFC brand.”

But there have been no legal actions taken by KFC against Dixon yet and neither did they commented anywhere regarding the same.

All’s well that ends well! For those who were worried about the ‘Fried Rat’ case, feel free to enjoy your food at KFC now!
